Wrought superalloy usually contain a dozen elements, various alloying elements by solid-solution strengthening, second phase strengthening and grain boundary strengthening other means to improve the heat resistance and thermal stability. That, added to chromium, cobalt, tungsten, molybdenum and other refractory elements in the alloy can form a solid solution, and thus play a solid solution strengthening effect.
If you add the element titanium, aluminum, niobium, tantalum, hafnium, vanadium, carbon, etc., it can contribute to the formation of intermetallic compounds and carbides, and thus play a role in strengthening the second phase. It is thought that it has excellent properties such that wrought superalloy wide range of applications, such as manufacturing important parts of the combustion chamber, and part of the turbine exhaust nozzle plate, high-pressure compressor disk and so on.
